Description
40 Ah of LiFePO4 — the entry capacity, and enough for a weekend. 512 Wh at 12.8 V, rated for 2000 cycles. Lithium’s practical advantage over lead-acid is that you can use most of what you paid for: a 40 Ah LiFePO4 delivers more usable energy than a 40 Ah AGM, and it does not mind being cycled.
Key points
- 512 Wh, 2000 cycles — a lead-acid battery of the same rating gives you roughly half the usable capacity, because you should not routinely take it below 50%.
- 50 A maximum discharge — enough for a modest inverter as well as 12 V loads.
- 20 A maximum charge current — size the controller and array accordingly; we will check this pairs correctly with your panel.
- -20 to 60 °C operating range. Note that charging lithium below freezing is what damages it — worth knowing if you travel in winter.
