Whose certificate is it?

Two things matter when you buy solar hardware from China: whether the goods are legal to sell in your market, and whether the certificates you are shown belong to the company selling them. This page keeps the two apart.

Two things matter when you buy solar hardware from China: whether the goods are legal to sell in your market, and whether the certificates you are shown actually belong to the company you are buying from. This page separates the two, because plenty of suppliers do not.

Held by Topenergy

These registrations are in our own company name — Xiamen Topenergy Industrial Technology Co., Ltd.

RegistrationReferenceWhat it means for you
German WEEE (ElektroG)DE 69775827Electrical equipment placed on the German market must be registered with stiftung ear before it can legally be sold. Ours is registered in Topenergy’s own name via an authorised representative in Germany, for the “large household appliances” equipment category. Without this, a German distributor cannot lawfully list the goods.
German WEEE registration DE 69775827
Our German WEEE registration — held in Topenergy's own company name, not borrowed from a factory.

Held by our partner factories

The panels, controllers, batteries and inverters we supply are made by partner factories that hold their own certification — ISO 9001, CE, RoHS, IEC and SGS among them. We want to be precise about this: those certificates are the factories’, not ours. We do not claim them as Topenergy certifications, and any supplier who blurs that line is telling you something about how they will behave later.

What we will do is name the factory behind any product you are considering and provide the relevant certificate — with its certificate number and issuing body — so your compliance team can verify it at source. Ask us on the enquiry page and reference the model.

Lithium batteries: what you must have before shipping

LiFePO4 batteries are dangerous goods in transport. Any battery we quote comes with a UN 38.3 test report, an MSDS, and the applicable transport classification document. If a supplier cannot produce these, the goods will not clear — and that is your problem, not theirs, once the container is loaded.

What we do not claim

  • We do not hold UL listing, and we do not state or imply that we do.
  • Our RV brackets have not been through salt-spray testing. We therefore do not describe them as marine-grade, even though customers do install them on boats.
  • Flexible panels are not 25-year products. See the honest figures on our product pages.

If a certificate you need is not listed here, ask. If we do not have it, we will say so.
